What Risker collects, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. Written to be read.

Who we are
Risker is an app for sharing your work, building a professional network, and finding jobs, clients and services. It is made by Lumerta (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Risker apps for iPhone and Android, this website, and the services behind them.
What we collect
What you give us
- Account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a hash), date of birth, and your handle.
- Sign in with Apple or Google: the name, email address and account identifier those services share with us.
- Profile: your photo, cover, title, location, about, skills, experience, education, certifications, awards, portfolio and the recommendations you write or receive.
- What you post: posts, photos, Blitz videos, comments, likes, reposts and saves.
- Messages: what you send in conversations, and the files you attach.
- Jobs and services: job listings, applications, cover letters, résumés, services, orders, order briefs, files delivered, and reviews.
- Risker AI: what you ask Risker AI and Risker Rico, and their answers.
- Support: what you write to us, and any feedback or reports you send.
Identity verification
If you choose to verify your identity, our verification provider, Didit, checks a government ID and a selfie on our behalf. We receive the result (verified or not) and the details needed to show your verified badge. We do not keep copies of your ID document or selfie on Risker.
What we collect automatically
- Sessions and devices: the device and app version you sign in from, its IP address and user agent, so you can see and sign out of your devices in Settings.
- Activity: which posts, profiles, jobs and services are viewed, so we can rank the feed and show you and other members analytics.
- Notifications: a push token for your device, if you allow notifications.
- Subscriptions: the App Store transaction and subscription status for a plan you buy. We never receive your card details.
- This website uses no cookies. If we measure visits, we use a cookieless analytics service that counts pages and clicks without identifying you.
How we use it
- To run Risker: your account, your profile, the feed, messages, jobs, services and orders.
- To rank and recommend: the feed, people, jobs and services you might be interested in.
- To show analytics: to you about your own posts and profile, and on paid plans who viewed your profile.
- To send notifications and emails you need, such as sign-in codes, password resets and activity you asked to hear about.
- To provide paid plans, check purchases with Apple, and apply what each plan includes.
- To keep Risker safe: to prevent spam, fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and act on reports and blocks.
- To fix problems and improve Risker.
- To meet legal obligations.
Where the law asks for a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you (running the service you signed up for), our legitimate interests (keeping Risker safe and improving it), your consent (for example notifications and identity verification, which you can withdraw), and legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Risker AI
Risker AI tools work only when you use them. When you do:
- They read only what you could already open in the app, such as your own posts, messages, listings and orders.
- Card numbers, passwords, keys and tokens are removed from what is sent before any AI model sees it.
- Requests are answered by AI models we run ourselves or by AI providers we work with, such as OpenAI, Google and Anthropic. Those providers process the request to produce the answer, under agreements that restrict how they use it.
- We keep your Risker Rico conversations and a search index of your own content so Rico can answer about it. They are deleted with your account.
- Automated replies written by AI are labelled as automated.
AI answers can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them or send them to someone.
What others can see
Your profile, posts, Blitz videos, comments, services and job listings are public to people on Risker. Messages are seen only by the people in the conversation. Applications are seen by you and the employer. Orders are seen by the buyer and the seller. If you block someone, you and they stop seeing each other anywhere on Risker.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run Risker, with:
| Who | Why |
|---|---|
| Hosting and storage providers (for example DigitalOcean) | To run our servers, databases and file storage. |
| Apple and Google | Sign-in, push notifications, and App Store subscriptions. |
| Expo | Delivering push notifications to your device. |
| Didit | Identity verification, only if you choose to verify. |
| AI providers (for example OpenAI, Google and Anthropic) | Answering Risker AI requests you make, and optional captions for Blitz videos. |
| Email providers | Sending account emails. |
| Place search (Photon) | Suggesting places as you type a location. Only what you type is sent. |
We also share information if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy keeps applying to your information.
How we protect it
Connections to Risker are encrypted. Private details such as your email address, date of birth, message text, cover letters and order briefs are encrypted in our databases. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Each part of Risker holds only the data it needs, and access is limited to the people who run it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe and will tell you if a breach affects you as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, messages, applications, résumés, services, listings, files, notifications and Risker AI history are deleted from every part of Risker. Orders you were part of stay on the other person’s record without your words or files. We keep your email address for 30 days after deletion to prevent abuse, then erase it. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your information in the app: profile, account settings, notifications and devices.
- Delete your account in Settings, then Security & Privacy, then Delete account. See Delete your account.
- Block anyone, and report posts, profiles and messages.
- Turn off push notifications in Settings or on your device.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access a copy of your information, correct it, object to or restrict some uses, and move it to another service. Email us and we will answer within the time the law sets. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Risker and the providers above may process information in countries other than yours. Where the law requires it, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for those transfers.
Children
Risker is not for children. You must be at least 16 to use it. If we learn that someone younger has an account, we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this policy as Risker changes. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
